PROTEOMICS

Proteomics, the new research frontier in molecular genetics that is unfolding on the heels of the successful decoding of the human genome, will be the focus of discussion at a two-week international workshop to be held at ICTP on 5-16 May. Titled "Proteomics: Protein Structure, Function and Interactions," the workshop will examine current perspectives on experimental, theoretical and computational approaches to the study and identification of proteins. Amos Maritan, professor at the International School for Advanced Studies (SISSA) and ICTP consultant, and Jayanth R. Banavar, professor of physics at Pennsylvania State University, will serve as organisers of the event.
