Viqar Husain, a young Pakistani physicist who was a postdoctoral student at the ICTP during the early 1990s, recently received the top award and US$2,500 from the Gravity Research Foundation for his essay, "Demise of the Cosmic Censor?". Each year, the USA-based Foundation awards this prize to a researcher for the best essay on the theory of gravitation. Husain currently works at the University of British Columbia in Vancouver, Canada.
