ASTRONAUTS "SHUTTLE" INTO CENTRE

The six-member crew of the U.S. space shuttle Discovery visited the ICTP in late October to talk to Centre scientists and staff about their August flight into space. The crew, consisting of five men and one woman, discussed the research experiments that they had conducted during the Discovery's 12-day mission. Of particular note was the crew's research involving the Ultraviolet Spectrograph Telescope for Astronomical Research (UVSTAR), a joint project of the University of Trieste and University of Arizona (USA).
